On Tuesday, San Francisco became the first major US city to approve legislation requiring rooftop solar on new buildings.
The San Francisco Board of Supervisors adopted legislation that will requires solar panels or solar water heaters to be installed on top of all residential and commercial buildings, excluding buildings taller than 10 stories.
